Mariia Yatsko is a Ukrainian humanitarian parolee, community builder, and refugee advocate based in Atlanta, Georgia. With over a decade of experience in quality management and certification in the oil and gas industry in Ukraine, Mariia rebuilt her life in the U.S. after fleeing the war in 2022.
She now works as an IDA Program Specialist at New American Pathways, helping refugees secure financial stability through car ownership, rental assistance, and homebuyer education. A proud Civic Pathways Leader with the Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies of Georgia.
Mariia is also the initiator of a national petition calling on Congress to create a pathway to permanent residency for humanitarian parolees. She regularly speaks at public events and legislative meetings, advocating for policy change and refugee rights.
Her recent engagements include organizing “Know Your Rights” workshops, leading a roundtable on the humanitarian parole crisis, and meeting with U.S. Senators' offices to elevate the voices of her community.
