  • Membership for the Refugee Storytellers Collective is open to any refugees, former refugees, asylum seekers, asylees or other forcibly displaced people based in the United States. There are no dues. Those who want to join the Collective are encouraged to share their perspectives publicly in a variety of ways, including in media interviews, op-eds, videos, podcasts, public speaking events, artistry, and more.

  • Currently, membership in the Collective is based on graduating from the New American Speakers Program. To learn more about the NASP and apply, please check the Refugee Congress website.

  • Collective members join on a volunteer basis and can participate in as many or as few activities as they like. Collective members also choose how they share their story and which platforms they are interested in (such as media interviews, public speaking engagements, social media posts, and more).

  • The Refugee Storytellers Collective is a growing community that offers experienced and aspiring storytellers the opportunity to share their perspectives, connect with others with similar lived experiences, and participate in a series of trainings on a variety of topics including public speaking, media relations, and more.

  • We are currently working only with individuals based in the United States.
