Her passion for people-centered programs stems from a deep belief in the power of community to drive change. Rooted in advocacy and equitable access, Salimatou leverages her expertise in program development, social justice, and community engagement to amplify underrepresented voices and create lasting impact. Salimatou’s remarkable journey in social services began when she fled Guinea and arrived in the United States in 2018. Inspired by the support she received during tough times, she developed a passion for helping families facing vulnerability. Over the past five years, she has dedicated her career to providing culturally aware social services, trauma-informed care, psychosocial rehabilitation, and community-based support. In her current role at the International Rescue Committee, Salimatou excels in fostering inclusivity and equity.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with her family.
